General • Working with Mikrotik and Netgear Prosafe Layer-2 switches

(Cheeky question)

I posted last autumn about trying to set-up a friend's B&B in Croatia with Mikrotik router/access points but using a Netgear M4100 Prosafe layer-2 switch. Worked fine except couldn't get the guest VLAN working through the switch. This was partly because of a middling understanding of VLANs and the fact that they just worked when I stick with a pure Mikrotik environment. It could be simply because I tried to use VLAN 1.

Anyway... they're back on the case so I need to try and solve this. I'd like to try and reconstruct their set-up back here in UK so I need a Netgear layer 2 switch. I could buy a second hand M4100 off eBay but that seems a bit excessive. I don't need a bit switch at home.

So the question, would this GS305EP have the same interface/configuration as the M4100?

I know this isn't a Mikrotik question as such (sort of related) but I've always found the crowd here very knowledgeable about all sorts of networking kit.
