My two pennies on the subject is coming from the point of view of someone that needed more than was offered by other manufacturers but coming to Mikrotik with a knowledge of consumer kit not networking. The capabilities of my new Mikrotik boxes, and I have fifteen of them now, is awesome, but sometimes seems overly complicated. I'm sure there are many out there who want to extend their home networks and reach for Synology, Ubiquity, Netgear products because Mikrotik is so complicated. A central management system would be excellent, at the very least for updating multiple devices. Capsman, in my experience, is overly complicated and unreliable. Cascading devices from my central router to a switch to the various wifi boxes we have requires careful configuration of each device, when all I want to be able to do is log into one and have the network as a whole do what I need it to do. I understand that Mikrotik isn't really aimed at the 'prosumer' market, but it could be. I've moved from Synology routers and their user interface is excellent and in my view should be a model. I can log into one device and everything appears there. I can update everything on the network, manage routes and wifi configurations and monitor individual devices as I go along, and all from one place
