I moved my LTE18 from an inside location using a 6M CAT6 to a roof location using a 10m CAT6. I also updated the RouterOS and LTE firmware using web interface. It ran for a few days then crashed while I was fiddling with some network tools via the web interface. It then wouldn't boot properly. Just a short period of activity on LED2 and then a steady LED3 and couldn't connect on 196.168.188.1.
So I swapped back to the shorter 6m cable and used NetInstall to reload latest RouterOS with "Keep old configuration" option selected. Nothing changed so I reloaded RouterOS, without selecting the "Keep old configuration" option. Now I get sporadic activity on LED2 and a steady LED3 but still no connection on IP address. Running ipconfig in a command window, I see this:
Ethernet adapter Ethernet:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80:
dec1:de63:c25%17
Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.254.227
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
So no Default Gateway address to connect to.
I tried connecting directly to the LTE18 by fixing my adapter address to 192.168.188.2 and this also failed.
My understanding is that the device stores a backup of it's boot code and that this can be run by releasing the reset button as soon as LED2 starts to flicker. This also doesn't seem to change anything.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Is there any other firmware that I can try loading that is likely to make a difference?
