Dear MikroTik enthusiasts,
I've switched from working device with ISP router + TP-Link switch unmanaged + TP-Link APs to all MikroTik RB5009 + CRS328 + hAP ax2.
After months of reading the knowledge base and many informative forum posts, I was able to set-up PPPoE, VLAN, Firewall and some tweeks like queue, nothing special.
Installed and after couple days we noticed issues (delay) with printer and troubles opening/saving files on NAS, panic!
(NAS is the only device connected with ethernet, others are connected using wireless).
With my PC I tried to "ping" the printer, two pings executed with 400/600ms delay and one lost (more or less), I did some quick changes to wireless channels and removed any queue added, rebooted and seems better.
Then I bought some MT devices for the home to find what caused the issue, restored the same config used at work and after couple days I had the same behavior, packet loss and inconsistent speed tests!
At work RouterOS is v.7.14.3, at home v.7.15.0, wireless config was tested before installation, FQ-Codel was added to ethernet ports and wireless reducing limit and quantum (found advices on some topics), internet usage was way below the line limit.
I noticed that "pinging" devices connected to the network, delay is very inconsistent, between 100 and 400 ms, that's normal?!
Today I installed at home a Raspberry with Uptime Kuma connected via Wi-Fi monitoring 1.1.1.1 and noticed some spikes from 18ms to 200ms!
Chanced the interface queue FQ-Codel to the default and immediately response time changed in a less "linear" way but no more spikes, waiting for more results...
Will post some details like config export soon, in the meantime, what do you think?
Do you have succeeded using FQ-Codel or experienced something similar?
Thanks for reading!
