1. Yes, only recently and I don't think (oh.. the second question is exactly about that )
2. I don't know what were they made for originally, but for myself I've stumbled upon three use cases (thus session file "type"):
   • window manager based on specific tasks that currently are being fiddled with e.g. /routing/rules + /ip/routes + /routing/table + /ip/firewall/mangle
   • window manager based on available display size (so mostly which columns and how wide)
   • window manager based on device type/role (router/switch/accesspoint...)
3. introduce a game "show my your windows and I'll tell you your task" add "task views" with separate setting for "info granularity => columns" and "positions on screen"
4. I don't know what it's meant to do but will check back after 5. For how it works for me: Task View, Arrangements, TaskMAN
