I have a hAP ax². I have logging to disk set up. I logged in with WinBox because I wanted to download a few of the log files for some examination. All of a sudden about half the files seemed to disappear in front of my eyes. The first 23 log files was still visible, but about 20 others was gone. Also a backup file I keep and the skins dir, seemed gone. I hit escape to close the file list and opened it again. Same view. At this point I started to feel nervous that something had really fucked. I now also realized that I only had 5% of free storage (121,4 of 128 MiB used). This because I've been somewhat overgenerous with the logging settings (50 files at 10000 lines, which gives a file size of just under 2 MB) and didn't properly calculate the disk usage impact it would have. I logged out and in again and everything was luckily back to normal. After downloading what I needed, I deleted the 25 oldest log files and changed the logging settings. Disk usage is now much healthier.
BUT... What could have caused this? Was it just a glitch with WinBox? Or had it something to do with the fact that I was almost out of space? Nothing odd showed up in the log (at the time of the "disappearance") but I don't like things I can't explain and I want to make sure the integrity of the device can be trusted. I'm really not keen on doing a netinstall right now...
Side note: The hAP ax² is an almost perfect device, BUT why MT designed it without a USB port (to store logs on, for example) I will never understand...
