Hello,
I have two MikroTik Cube 60Pro ac antennas (CubeG-5ac60ay).
The first antenna is set to Access Point mode, and the second antenna is in Station mode.
The antennas are currently on my desk for configuration purposes.
I can successfully establish a WiFi bridge using the 60 GHz band.
I can also successfully establish a WiFi bridge using the 5 GHz band.
However, I'm facing difficulties configuring the backup link properly.
The WiFi bridge should operate as follows:
The primary, main frequency should be 60 GHz.
The secondary, backup frequency should be 5 GHz.
Currently, both 60 GHz and 5 GHz radios are enabled on both Access Point and Station antennas.
In this configuration, the WiFi bridge always connects via the 5 GHz band.
Is it possible to force the antennas (WiFi bridge) to prioritize connecting via the 60 GHz band?
Currently, I can switch from the 5 GHz radio to the 60 GHz radio by disabling wlan1 in the Interface tab.
Then, antennas switch and connect using the 60 GHz band (wlan60-1).
I want the 60 GHz and 5 GHz radios to be always enabled and active on both the Access Point and Station antennas.
Is it possible to have both radios simultaneously enabled on the WiFi bridge? Will this cause any issues?
I attempted to switch frequencies using Netwatch with simple commands:
UP tab:
/interface enable wlan60-1
/interface disable wlan1
DOWN tab:
/interface disable wlan60-1
/interface enable wlan1
However, this solution isn't optimal.
It disables the 5 GHz radio if there is no 60 GHz connection.
When antennas connect using 5 GHz, it keeps trying to connect via 60 GHz, disabling the 5 GHz radio.
This approach is highly unreliable and primitive.
Is there a possibility for antennas to be simultaneously connected via both the 60 GHz and 5 GHz bands?
Is there a way to set priority for the 60 GHz band? (Currently, with both radios active, the bridge always connects via the 5 GHz band.)
How can I configure proper, automatic switching between the 60 GHz and 5 GHz bands?
I would like this switching to consider parameters like signal strength and tx/rx speeds of the bridge.
Please assist me with the configuration.![Smile :)]()
