Hello, there
We should build completely new surveillance system for our customers property. The distances between the points where there will be IP cameras are not large, but connecting the cable will be expensive and will slow us down. So, I decide to take my chance with Wi-Fi bridges, and Mikrotik products. I have no a big experience with MtK-products, but I love them - the same customer has it`s own Mikrotik Router in its home (configured by me), and it works just PERFECT. Lol, let`s return to the main question - I have almost 0 experience with wi-fi bridges so I need some help.
The schematic will be attached to my post, you can check it. The property is not so big as you can see - approx. 100 x 100m. I did read some articles, research some online-stores in Bulgaria, and...
The final decision (for now) is to use mANTBox ax 15s as a AP-bridge (Main) and thanks to this forum i`d like to use wAP ax as wds-slave. I will do the WDS dynamic between all this points. You can see at the image - the red elipse (mAntBox) and green one (wAP ax). I know that mANTBox has a good horizontal polarization for its antenna (120 or 140 degree if I am not wrong). The distances between mANTBox and wAP will be up to 150 meters.
I did some homework - have an old RB751 and RB951 and put them both in WDS dynamic bridge mode last night. The point of this is - to ensure at least 100mBps at any wAP (7-8 IP cameras as maximum), and stable, reliable connection from all wAP and IP-cameras respectively. Any advices are welcome, thanks in advance to all !!!
p.s. Do 802.11 ax offer some kind of "smart switch between 5ghz=>2.4ghz, when bad weather appear (e.g. heavy rain)? The prices between .11ac and .11ax are not significant, so I suppose .11ax is way better decision. Am I right?
