I do not understand what you mean by avoiding assymetric routing, that is not a requirement that is anxiety and fear configurating.

So .
a. identify users/devices, external - internal including admin
b. identify traffic they require to accomplish

In terms of WAN,
public/private IP, dynamic/static IP type of connection.

Any vpns?
Any port forwardings?
