I need some help in troubleshooting an error relating to Mikrotik Hotspot and Windows AD I am facing in my environment currently. I have two Windows AD servers running and providing DNS resolution for internal clients. Mikrotik router DNS is pointing towards Windows AD. However, the Windows AD and/or the Mikrotik router is unable to register the hotspot-authorized clients' ( domain PCs ) DNS host records in the AD's DNS server records.
But if we disable the hotspot server on the Mikrotik router the AD clients can register their DNS A records successfully without any issues.
NB: All Windows AD DNS server addresses have been added to the hotspot IP walled-garden list for pre-hotspot access. Also, Mikrotik's DNS IP address is pointing to the Windows AD.
